Economic meltdown
Over the past month, we have watched the price of fuel, both gas, diesel and home heating oil almost double and the result is a dramatic rise in the cost of food, hardgoods and everything that we as consumers have to, no NEED to purchase. As I watched television this morning, they predicted gas may go to 12 dollars per gallon. If this is the case, how do we afford to drive to work and will our companies double our salaries to cover our costs? I don't think so. The cost of everything that we need is going to double and that, in essence, will eliminate the lower and middle class. Where is this leading and why does the "brain trust" in our state and federal governments do nothing?. They turn a blind eye to this and we are in the throes of economic starvation. We as a people have to start putting these "leaders" on notice that this is unacceptable and they have to start doing the job that elected them to do. We are funding a war that is costing billions almost daily and the justification was that we would be repaid with oil for liberating the middle east. Did they just forget to begin repaying the debt or did we decide we don't need to be repaid?Please call or write your congressmen both state and federal and tell them this has to stop or soon we will not be able to afford the price of the stamp or phone call to tell them what we want. |
