Economic Downward Spiral
As the election grows nearer, I am constantly the no one seems to get it. The latest crises is the high cost of food and clothing and everything that you can buy retail or wholesale. Every single hardgood item or food and clothing item is moved at one time or another in our transportation system. The majority of our consumables are now imported from overseas because our leaders have over the past few decades have pushed "global economy" for the betterment of "our" econic health. The truth of the matter is that the majority of the money now goes offshore to other countries and we have downsized our manufacturing industries in this country to the point that it is no longer a viable alternative. The oil companies have raised prices to the point that we cannot afford to buy gas and diesel fuel. Weren't these American companies before the "global economy"? Each time the fuel rises, the cost of moving goods goes up with it and even the cost of importing goods is out of control. All I hear from any of the candidates is doubletalk and we are headed towards the worst economic conditions we have ever seen unless the Washington braintrust gets moving in the right direction and forgets about the special interests . I really don't see it happening because the egos are bigger than the intellects, so batten down the hatches because it's going to be a rough ride! |
